MELISSA MABE
Melissa Mabe, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, is the president at Ruggles Mabe Studio. Melissa graduated from the University of Colorado Denver’s Architecture School and came to Ruggles Mabe as an intern in 2004. It took her only eight years to become a principal at the firm where she demonstrated her dedication for architecture and design, and the people whose lives are affected by their built environment. She is a member of the Design Leadership Network, an exclusive, invitation only, network of leading architecture and interior design firm principals in the U.S. In addition, Melissa serves as a board member and treasurer of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) and also serves on the University of Colorado’s Center of Advanced Research in Traditional Architecture’s Advisory Board. She is actively involved in her firm’s intern development program and outreach efforts to high school students. Hosting five or more interns per year, she is devoted to sharing her knowledge and experience to further the blossoming careers of new architects and interior designers. Melissa played an instrumental role in the creation of a new Certificate in Classical Architecture at the University of Colorado Denver, where she volunteers as a guest juror on student projects.
In 2014 she was selected by ENR Mountain States as one of its’ 2014 Top 20 Under 40. In addition, Melissa was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a Top Newsmaker in the architecture category for the Power Book Awards, as well as one of two finalists in the architecture, engineering and construction category for Outstanding Women in Business. Melissa bridges the gap between interior design and architecture for the firm and its clients. She’s managed projects as close as Denver, Colorado and as far as Oxford England. Melissa Mabe holds a master of architecture and a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Colorado.
